HTC EVO 4G

HTC EVO 4G is the world's first 4G Android phone. It represents HTC's commitment to always delivering the best user experience with blazing-fast internet and super intuitive HTC Sense.
Lamb Sauce : Ahh~. I remember the day I got this beast on launch. This device really did define Android back in the day. Wonderful how time just passes.

I'm an owner of a Galaxy Nexus now, but I still have this phone propped up on my desk looking fine. :3
TheBestNameEverMade : HTC are finally starting to get ahead in the pack. They've always been near the top but now they are releasing some killer phones. They need to keep pushing the limits though with so many other companies on their heels.
Miklós Tamás : This was 10 years ago?! Wow time goes fast

I cant imagine the smartphone technology in 2030
Gentleman : Back then when HTC was actually good in making phones
KomicGenius : I got this phone two weeks ago and I'm STILL discovering all the cool stuff it can do. This phone can literally keep you busy for hours on end (now if they can only invent a longer lasting battery? Lol).

HTC EVO 3D in 2021: Crazy 3D Phone, 10 Years On! [Retro Review]

Back in 2011, two things were reaching the peak of their popularity: #HTC and #3D. Here's the crazy phone from ten years ago that combines the two, the one and only #HTCEVO3D

_ 3nekos : I had so much fun with this phone. I remember it including the 3D Green Hornet movie.
hani2262 : I owned that phone
I remember when everyone at work would gather around to see the 3d effect
GG 02 : HTC made some stellar phones, back then. I owned a One M8 and a One A9, which is still used by my mom!
ytown4 : I had the Sprint version of this phone. It ended up being pretty forgettable. Now, the HTC Evo 4g, that phone
Gadgetonomy : I have owned a ridiculous amount of phones over the past 10 years, but the Evo 3D (UK version) has always been one on my list of "retro phones I would consider buying again for nostalgic reasons" . I still have a folder of 3D images I took with it stored on Google Drive, for that day when I might own one again!

HTC EVO 4G (Revisited): When 4G was Cool

The HTC EVO 4G was the first 4G Android smartphone released in the United States back in 2010. Its "large" 4.3 inch display and signature kickstand were some of the unique elements to this device. The EVO 4G was a fun phone to tinker with. Flashing ROMs and kernels from XDA Developers or running some of the early root apps on Android.

The EVO 4G has a special place in my heart. It was my first Android smartphone and also the phone which inspired me to start this Youtube channel, originally called "Opensourcegansgter".

ffolkess : W00t! I was the developer who "unlocked" the 29.97fps cap. I remember working on it for days non-stop (thanks ADHD and hyperfocusing!), not even sleeping, along with some other very talented people on IRC, compiling the kernel over and over, testing with that FPS app with the bar graph/histogram. Eventually other, more skilled devs, got the HDMI working at the same time as the uncapped framerate, which I believe was around 45fps.
Aaron Melson : The HTC Evo 4G was my very first phone. I NEVER owned a phone prior to this one since I was always so broke. But I wanted a phone and this one had just come out and I loved the design and the way it looked. I worked really hard at Fedex and about 3 weeks later I went to sprint and paid the $200 for the 2 year contract and bought this phone. This brings back so many memories at that time in 2010.
Skotch : Hey dude, long time subscriber and loved seeing some of the old footage. This is a great video and honestly loved it. I've not watched your content for a while but took a whim on this one and I'll definitely be watching more of your future videos. Keep it up!
BLTtoby : Awesome video, thanks for it! I just dug mine out of my old technology drawer to mess around with. I have such great memories of this phone as it was my first ever Android. HOURS spent on XDA figuring out root, roms, and recovery. It was such an exciting time full of possibility. It's really too bad HTC fell off like they did, and that new Androids like my current S22 Ultra have eFuses that make rooting a no-go for me. Mad props on including that iPhone vs Evo meme vid too, hahaha
ThinkPadDesu : Oh man this is a blast from the past. I remember subscribing years ago when I was a kid. Nice seeing you again! :)
